Gujarat Cultural Tour

Tour Itinerary

Days 1 : Arrive Ahmadabad
Upon arrival, meet & assist by our company representative and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Ahmedabad; the second largest city of Gujarat.
Days 2 : Ahmedabad – Sightseeing
Post breakfast; proceed for a guided tour in Ahmadabad visiting Jama masjid – built in 1423. Built of yellow sandstone in an architectural style, that combines the best of Muslim & Hindu traditions. Later visit Teen Darwaja; The triple-arched gateway was built by Sultan Ahmed Shah to serve as the royal entrance to the Maidan Shahi or the Royal Square. Also visit to Siddi Saiyyed Mosque; celebrated the world over for its exquisite stone window tracery – a superb & peerless example of delicate carving that transforms stone into filigree. Also visit Gandhi Ashram; on a quiet peaceful stretch of the Sabarmati River, Mahatma Gandhi set up a simple retreat in 1915. Visit night handicraft market at Law Garden.
Days 3 : Ahmedabad – Rajkot (225 kms. / 05 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Rajkot; very pleasant provincial town. Mahatma Gandhi spent a few years of his life in this town. Upon arrival in Rajkot, check-in to the hotel and later visit to Kaba Gandhi No Delo, house where the father of the nation Gandhi lived before his involvement in the Freedom movement.
Days 4 : Rajkot – Dwarka (235 kms. / 05 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Dwaraka; once the capital of Lord Krishna’s empire mentioned in the ancient epic Mahabharata. It is one of the four religious centers established by the great Adi Shankaracharya. It is one of the most sacred places of Hinduism.
Days 5 : Dwarka – Porbandar (125 kms. / 03 hours drive)
After breakfast, visit the Dwarkadhish or Lord of Dwaraka – Krishna Temple. The original temple was constructed thousand years ago. Afternoon; drive to Porbandar; where Mahatma Gandhi was born. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and later evening visit Kirti Mandir is the house where he was born is a part of the mandir complex. Now is has been converted to a memorial.
Days 6 : Porbandar – Junagarh via Somnath (240 kms. / 05 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to visit the Somnath; one of the twelve most sacred shrines dedicated to the Lord Shiva and a jyotirlinga. After visiting the Temple, drive further to Junagadh; situated in the Saurashtra region at the foot of the temple-studded Mount Girnar, on the northern fringes of the Gir forest. The city takes its name from the fort that enclosed the medieval town. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and later visit to Forts, Ashoka Rock Edicts and Maqbara.
Days 7 : Junagarh – Diu (150 kms. / 03 hours drive)
After breakfast; drive to Diu. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and proceed for a sightseeing tour in Diu visiting St. Paul’s church, St. Thomas Church Museum and Diu Fort. Evening spend a leisurely time at Nagoa beach.
Days 8 : Diu – Mumbai (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to Diu airport to board the flight Mumbai. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day free at leisure for own activities.
Days 9 : Mumbai – Full day tour
Post breakfast; we take the boat cruise from Gateway of India to visit Elephanta Caves, houses rock cut temples dating back to 5th century CE. It was named by the Portuguese, after the statue of an elephant near the landing area of the island. Return and proceed for a guided tour in Mumbai visiting Gateway of India, the entrance to the port of Mumbai. Later We also drive through the Marine Drive, which runs along the shore of the Arabian Sea from Nariman Point past Chowpatty Beach to the foot of Malabar Hill. Also visit Mani bhavan a museum dedicated to Gandhi, the father of Indian independence movement.
Days 10 : Mumbai – Departure
Post breakfast; time free for own activities. Later; on time transfer to Mumbai airport to board the flight to onward journey.
